Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Muhammad Maaz Ahmad (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the ExpenseWyse application and related services (the “App”).
1. Who we are
Data controller / developer: Muhammad Maaz Ahmad
Contact:
mmaaz990ahmad@gmail.com
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use the App, we process:
- Account information — If you register or sign in, we process your email address and authentication credentials through Google Firebase Authentication (email/password).
- Financial and activity data you enter — Expenses, budgets, income, savings goals, custom categories, loan or debt notes you track for your own records, and optional activity/audit log entries. This is stored on your device and, when you are signed in and online, synchronized to Google Firebase Realtime Database under your user ID.
- Device-local security data — If you enable an app PIN, a salted hash of your PIN and related lock/session flags are stored locally on your device (not sent to our servers as plain text).
- App settings — Preferences such as currency, theme, and notification toggles may be stored locally.
ExpenseWyse is a personal finance organizer. It does not originate loans, move money, or connect you to lenders. Any “loan” entries are notes you create for your own tracking.
3. How we use information
- To provide core App features (tracking, budgets, sync, backup/restore).
- To secure your session (PIN, sign-in).
- To improve reliability (e.g. handling offline use and sync when you are online).
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers
We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication and cloud storage of your synced data. Google’s processing is governed by Google’s terms and privacy policy. We recommend reviewing Firebase privacy information.
5. Retention and deletion
- Cloud: While your account exists, synced data is retained in Firebase under your user ID. When you delete your account from the App (Settings → Delete account), we remove your cloud data and Firebase Authentication user as implemented in the App.
- Device: You may clear local data using in-app reset/export options. Uninstalling the App may remove local data depending on your platform.
- For account deletion without access to the App, see our Account deletion page.
6. Security
We use industry-standard transport security (HTTPS) for traffic between the App and Firebase where applicable. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and keeping your device secure.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). Do not register if you are not old enough to consent in your region.
8. International transfers
Firebase may process data in the United States and other countries where Google operates. By using cloud sync, you understand that your information may be transferred across borders as described in Google’s documentation.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at mmaaz990ahmad@gmail.com. You may also delete your account from within the App where available.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
